Northumbria Advanced Clinical Assessment for Nurses

Welcome to NACAN

NACAN is a masters level advanced clinical assessment skills module which is accredited by Sunderland University for 40 credits at Level 6 or 7.The course was primarily developed for qualified nurses working with adult patients but, we are also happy to consider applications from appropriately experienced allied professionals

The content focuses on clinical practice, and utilises common scenarios to develop both the clinical reasoning and physical examination skills of students. It aims to extend students practical knowledge base and enable recognition of their operational boundaries

Who is the course aimed at?

Experienced nursing staff or AHPs, particularly those working in areas with low levels of medical supervision or with patients whose condition may change unexpectedly.
