What will you achieve from this Course?
Understand the mechanism of illness for a defined range of common acute conditions;
Develop relevant clinical & cognitive skills in order to recognise & accurately assess the condition of the acutely ill patient;
Develop relevant clinical & cognitive skills in order to initiate early interventions for the safe management of patients whose condition is changing;
Further develop your skills in conveying information about changes in the acutely ill patient.
How long is the Course?
Stage 1: 3 set days teaching per week for 6 weeks, (classroom & clinical area based);
Stage 2: 12 weeks working in your own clinical area gathering evidence for your portfolio;
Stage 3: A further 12 weeks working in your own clinical area, to enable role consolidation.
